This week for my blogging tips I wanted to look at A Blog’s About Page.
Every Blog has one but is your blog utilising it to the best of it’s ability?
The Main Points You Should Think Of For Your Blog About Page
About the Blog
Your about page should have two about sections. One about the blog itself and another about you. Your about page is just as much for your readers as it is for you. Write it for your readers.
A full bio documenting your childhood all the way to what you ate for breakfast isn’t needed. Keep it simple, short and sweet. Let your reader know a little bit about you and the person behind the blog. Where your based is also a cool snippet to add.
1st person or 3rd person. Either is fine, which ever you prefer. Please pick one and stick to it. There is nothing worse than reading a page and it switches half way through. Keep it consistent.
Use affiliate links? Have sponsored posts? A good place to pop your disclaimer is in your about page.
Everyone now has a good idea what Catfish means in this internet day and age. Seeing a picture of you in your about page puts people at ease. It gives a personal touch and encourages people to interact more. No one wants to talk to an unknown face.
What else have you found works well on your about page?
