“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ” Christopher Robin
Over the last few months I have done my Snoop Snoop Series and this month when it came to write it up my heart just was not in it. I couldn’t do it. I’m very stubborn that way. So I got to thinking of how I could do this Series in a different way. I still wanted to pay tribute to the bloggers that have helped / inspired / moved me in whatever way it was for my little blog.
So… Instead of doing the old way, I’m gonna try a new way. I gonna change it up and launch a Blogger Interview. I’ve seen this done by a number of my favourite bloggers. I LOVE reading them so here’s my take on it!! Kicking it of, our first Q&A, who else but a fellow Mrs.!!
Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
My name is Angela! I’m 25, married to an amazing guy, working as a daycare teacher, and am an eternal optimist living down in New Zealand. My blog is a place for me to share my memories, thoughts and experiences about anything and everything.
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
I had made it months ago and forgotten about it. I wanted to share recent travels I’d gone on, and decided that my blog would be the best place to share it. I didn’t expect anyone to read, but someone did. So I kept going, and started connecting with more and more people around the world 🙂
How do you manage time for your blog and how efficient do you think it is?
During the weekend, I tend to bulk up my pictures, and write most of my blog posts for the week. After work, in the evenings, I spend some time writing if I feel like it. I normally always have at least 4-5 days planned at a time. It’s been working pretty well for me.
What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Back when I started, I would spend time looking for like-minded bloggers. I looked through tags, checked out nominations of other bloggers from bloggers I already followed and liked. I would read the blogs, and if I liked it, I would comment, check out some others and follow. I did it a lot at the beginning, I would consistently read and make sure I stayed active on everyone’s blogs. Over time, there was a steady trickle of traffic, and soon it grew and more people started finding me. I still search for blogs now, but not as often as I did back when I was starting.
What are your blog plans for the next year?
Honestly, I don’t have any. I plan for around a month in advance and that’s it. I hope to still be blogging as I am now basically.
Who has impacted you most in blogging and how?
There’s no one person I would say. But everyone in the blogging community as a collective. I literally knew nothing about blogging 7 months ago, and now, there’s a whole community that I feel such a strong part of. I just love blogging.
Who are your top 3 favourite bloggers and explain why?
I don’t really like to pick favourites. As always, I redirect people to my Have You Met series!
If you could only have ONE plugin on your blog which one would you pick?
I’m really fond of the Yoast SEO widget. I credit Bella for helping me find it. But it’s good with helping with that whole technical side of optimizing your site for search engines.
What do you find the most frustrating aspect of blogging?
How much time it takes? Random spam comments. The positives outnumber the negatives by so much.
Did you have any professional help or did you created the blog yourself?
With wordpress, it’s easy to create your own blog. When I moved to self hosted, SiteGround helped me out.
Which is your favourite social media platform to use alongside your blog?
Instagram and Pinterest
Who takes the majority of your photos?
Me! Sometimes Rory 🙂
I hope you enjoyed the new format! Keep an eye out, it may be more than once a month depending on how it goes. I would love to hear what you think!!??
